The Power of Attorney, as you may be aware, was to be replaced by the "Representation Agreement" which came into effect February 28, 2000.   Since then it has been determined that Powers of Attorney will not be discontinued.  Representation Agreements, however, are recommended for optimum protection to the individual granting power to another person for health matters.  A Power of Attorney for financial purposes and a Representation Agreement for health purposes is probably the best choice.
